Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 cup crispy cooked turkey bacon, crumbled
  • 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
  • 12 lasagna noodles, cooked al dente
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan (for topping)
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (optional)
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Add diced onion and sauté until soft, about 4–5 minutes. Stir in minced garlic and cook for another minute. Add marinara sauce, crumbled turkey bacon, Italian seasoning, smoked paprika, and season with salt and pepper. Simmer the mixture for 10 minutes before setting aside.
  2. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt unsalted butter. Whisk in all-purpose flour and cook for 1–2 minutes to remove any raw taste. Slowly whisk in whole milk and cook until thickened, about 5 minutes. Stir in grated Parmesan cheese and garlic powder; season with salt and pepper before removing from heat.
  3. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). In a 9×13-inch baking dish, spread a layer of meat sauce on the bottom. Layer cooked lasagna noodles over the sauce. Add a layer of béchamel sauce followed by mozzarella and cheddar cheeses. Repeat these layers until all ingredients are used up, finishing with cheese on top and sprinkling extra grated Parmesan.
  4. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake uncovered for an additional 15 minutes until bubbly and golden brown on top. Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing into portions.
