Ingredients

Scale
  • 250g lukewarm whole milk
  • 50g granulated sugar
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dried yeast
  • 2 large eggs
  • 565g all-purpose flour
  • 850g diced apples
  • 30g unsalted butter (for filling)
  • 280g brown sugar (for topping)
  • 225g cream cheese (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. 1. Warm the whole milk until lukewarm and combine it with granulated sugar and yeast in a bowl. Let it sit until frothy.
  2. 2. In another bowl, whisk together eggs and salt before adding them to the yeast mixture.
  3. 3. In a large mixing bowl, blend all-purpose flour with softened butter. Slowly incorporate the wet mixture and knead until smooth.
  4. 4. Allow the dough to rise in a warm place for about an hour.
  5. 5. Meanwhile, melt butter in a pan, add diced apples, sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Cook until tender; stir in cornstarch.
  6. 6. Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread melted butter on top, then sprinkle with brown sugar-cinnamon mix followed by apple filling and pecans.
  7. 7. Roll tightly into a log, slice into pieces, and let rise again for about 30 minutes before baking in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 25-30 minutes.
  8. 8. For frosting: Beat together softened butter and cream cheese before gradually adding powdered sugar to reach desired consistency.
  9. 9. Once cooled slightly, frost generously and enjoy.
